Pinwheel Federal Penitentiary

Pinwheel Federal Penitentiary is Nicktropolis' main jail complex. It is a maximum security federal prison that serves the city of Nicktropolis. Many psychotic criminals from across the Nickelodeon Fanonverse have been imprisoned within the prison and also escaped from it. In addition to housing some of the worst offenders that heroes have fought, it is also designed to contain various super-powered individuals as well. One of the world's most notorious, and best known prisons over the years, Pinwheel housed some of America's most ruthless criminals including LT Fan, Mimic the Impressionist, Dr. Boom, Professor Carrotstein and more. Daily tours of the facility are provided to help supplement the rising costs of staff, maintenance, and upkeep.

History[]

Origins[]

Pinwheel's dark history began in 1952. At one point, the prison was condemned by Amnesty International and forced to shut down, but was eventually re-opened in 1992.

Michael Kiefer[]

Warden Michael Kiefer has been running the Pinwheel Federal Penitentiary since 2012 and has dedicated his life to restoring sanity to the so-called super villains that plague Nicktropolis. The somewhat sadistic Kiefer instigated stringent new security and experimental research policies at Pinwheel.

Terrence Geller[]

Warden Terrence Geller, during the fourth millennium, proceeded to demolish Pinwheel before rebuilding it with state-of-the-art systems to keep Pinwheel's new super-criminals contained.

The Pinwheel Federal Penitentiary came under attack when Invader O'zae staged an elaborate trap for the ACS in 3023. He freed several super-powered convicts housed in the holding cells and caused untold damage to the facilities. Running amok through Pinwheel, O'zae paused only briefly to murder or vandalize. Most of the security force was overwhelmed by the freed convicts, and later the more unsettled mental patients were let loose, rampaging through the prison.

Trivia[]

  • The name of the prison is a reference to The Pinwheel Network, the original name of Nickelodeon.
  • Nick spent some time in Pinwheel, but was released primarily because they couldn't deal with him anymore.
  • The prison cellblock resembles the cellblock from The Shawshank Redemption.
