Nickelodeon Family is an American basic cable and satellite television network that launched on October 27, 2013 as GorgeTV. In June 2015, the network rebranded as Nickelodeon Family.

On December 2nd, 2020, Nickelodeon Family began abbreviating itself as "NF" via unveiling a new logo. The "NF" abbreviation was already used for spin-off channel NFGaming, marking the main Nickelodeon Family channel the second channel to use the abbreviation. As AuraNightfall had essentially become a separate network from Nickelodeon Family by that point, the nighttime hours weren't affected; instead, AuraNightfall would introduce a separate branding refresh later in the night.

As of December 2015, approximately 81 million households in the United States (70.3% of households with at least one television set) receive Nickelodeon Family.

Programming[]

Main article: Nickelodeon Family/Programming

Besides programming from Curiousgorge66 Studios, the channel currently airs programming sourced from Nickelodeon, including The Loud House and The Fairly Oddparents, in addition to other acquired programming such as Time Force, Miracle Tunes!, and Duel Masters NXT.

The channel, alongside its sister channels and SurgeAnime Network (now SurgeAnime Extra and soon to be AnimeCore Extra), signed deals with Right Stuf, Inc., PonyCan USA, and Media Blasters in late 2018, set to expire no earlier than mid-2021. The channels currently hold timed-exclusive linear broadcast rights to Nozomi Entertainment/Lucky Penny and PonyCan USA's catalogs (with few exceptions related to right-of-first refusal), with episodes being available for other broadcasters a week after the initial broadcast (though some linear rights, such as those to Big Windup! 2, are sub-licensed to Sling Anime Channel), alongside exclusive off-network (i.e. outside Toku) broadcast rights to the AnimeWorks catalog. The deal between Aura International and Nozomi Entertainment for North American linear rights does not include the broadcast rights to neither the Critical Mass catalog nor the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise (due to Right Stuf simply being a distributor of the franchise for Sunrise).

Controversy[]

Both Nickelodeon Family and its sister channel Nicktoons Family have been accused of airing adult-oriented programming during their daytime schedules in the past, with some groups alleging that this move goes against the channels' focus according to the names of the channels. NickFamily USA later admitted that daytime airings of said programs were edited down to achieve a TV-PG rating during the day; though the channel has reduced the number of heavily-edited adult programming during the day following the launch of NF@Nite, Nickelodeon Family has since announced that it would stop carrying adult anime series during the day, following a decision to rebrand its overnight block as AuraNightfall and launch a Canadian version of said block on YTV Family.
